Everything is hand painted, no textures, no pre-made objects from other sources.
The snowflakes are all copies of the biggest one, I created it the following way:
I drew the top arm and the left arm with simple round brush, duplicated the left arm and made it the right arm, then I duplicated that upper half and made it the bottom half. That's why the flake is kinda regular
A few days ago, I found this song: "Let it go" and it inspired me. Especially the part "kingdom of isolation" which sounded a lot like a clever word-play to me: "kingdom of ice" turning into "kingdom of isolation".
I think I should go back to Gimp linework, it's better for less cartoony styles.
I'm still so much better in photo referencing (even with changes, like eg. this left arm of hers) than in 100% imaginative work with shades... I really needed this.
This time I played around with simple effects which changed the colours into more illustrative.
